First, Self-Development π§π½ββοΈ
Let's check in with ourselves.
Last week, I was vulnerable and shared that I was in a very sad place.
I wasn't sure what was causing it, and I had to slow down and figure out the cause intentionally.
Ultimately, It came down to wanting my cake and expecting to eat to it now.
Many of us I am can relate (and I know this based on how many of you hit that reply button and shared your feelings with me). This is a direct sentence from a subscriber:
One thing I appreciate about you is your transparency & vulnerability. It makes me feel seen somehow. Makes me feel like I'm not alone. Thank you.
We aren't alone in how we are feeling. Frustration comes from the fact that we didn't expect the "thing" to be hard - and most of us can relate to the feeling of frustration.
It eats at us, (sometimes unknowingly for months), and then we eventually give up.
But I am here to encourage you by saying that slow... is a good thing,
Slow is smooth - and smooth is fast.
Often, we try to go as fast as possible, but to end up in burnout land. Then we are forced to sit down.
Faster isn't always better, and a sustainable pace is the goal. One that takes joy, happiness, self-care into consideration.
What is the point of crossing the finish line, if you hated the journey and feel absolutely terrible about how you get there?
Remember you're working for results in 2-3 years, not tomorrow. You can take your time.
I have been incorporating more downtime into my schedule this past week.
Time with family
Time with friends
Time alone
And I can tell you it's made a HUGE difference in my mood. So take the time to embed FUN into your daily routine.
Not when you finally take that vacation
Not next year
Today
So what can you do that will bring your joy in this moment?
Then, Business π°
You donβt need to quit your 9β5 job to start making money online
I built a creator business while I had a 9β5 job.
It all started in University when I was going to school full-time, working a part-time job, and creating content on the side.
While most of my friends partied, travelled etc.. I created YouTube videos at odd hours of the night. If I wasn't working, I was watching videos on how to edit and stitch together footage.
The world of content creation isn't pretty. It is lonely.
It really felt like a never ending cycle of work, but I loved it. There was no pressure associated with it in the early days, so in part, I could say it didn't feel like work at all.
My point: don't quit your job. You should leverage it instead as you build your business. Use the financial security to experiment and test your ideas before your go all in.
The only caveat is that you will have to work hard. But we are used to that right?
Everything is hard. It is a matter of intentionally picking your hard. I used to tell myself that I am sacrificing a lot today, so that I can have more tomorrow.
If youβre not willing to put in the work to build something meaningful, know that it isn't going to fall on your lap magically.
Hard work is the prerequisite to making this all work.
Prematurely quitting your job, especially without a plan (been there and done that), is why I believe there is a swamp of desperate creators looking to work with brands to make ends meet.
Creators are giving up their powers and allowing brands to determine their worth simply because they need the money.
Luckily, you are here and we are going to change that.
β
There are only two barriers to making money online:
- Your skillset.
- Your beliefs.
β
Sounds simple, right? Except that simplicity doesn't mean easy.
Your mindset will be the biggest challenge throughout this entire process. Of course, talent matters, but most give up before their talent kicks in.
Most people question their ability to succeed so much so that they've convinced themselves that it won't happen to them because of - insert excuse here.
Your attitude toward life and your work will determine how far you go.
Your attitude toward life and your work will determine how far you go.
I know many talented, intelligent, and hardworking people who are trapped by their limiting beliefs.
From someone who was trapped as well for nearly a decade, I would advise you to invest in therapy before investing in courses to improve your skills.
β
Take control of your business with multiple sources of income
I will die on this hill.
At first, I only relied on YouTube Adsense to monetize my creative business.
Then I relied solely on brand deals.
The issue with both of these is that it creates fear.
Operating from a place of fear, in business, is not the best way.
What if you aren't able to sustain yourself in the coming months? That fear has cause many to call it quits or accept deals that devalue them as a business.
The best position to be in is to create multiple sources of income so that you take control of the narrative.
As an influencer, there are multiple ways you can go about this. Here are some streams you can look into:
- Platform incentives (I.e.YouTube Adsense)
- Brand Deals
- Speaking Invitations
- Author
- Memberships
- Affiliate Marketing
- Coaching
- Digital Products
- Provide a Service
β
As you can see, there is a long list but many of us focus on just ONE. We are told to build the following and the income will come.
Except that is one of the biggest lie in the industry.
If you want to be financially stable and enjoy the freedom that comes with it, you will get serious with build out stream of incomes that YOU control.
The question I am asking myself this week β
Are my current habits aligned with who I want to become?
This week's quote that made me think π¬
"A focused fool can accomplish more than a distracted genius."β- Alex Hormozi

Jenn's Monthly Book Club π
This is a new segment that I am adding to the newsletter. I have always loved reading and get so much knowledge from books.
This month, I started reading Storyworthy by Matthew Dicks. So much of what we consume online are based of stories, real or made up. If you want to get better with your work as an influencer, you should be good at telling stories so that you can captivate your audience.
I recently started the book so I can't share much yet, but be sure to tune in the upcoming newsletters to hear my thoughts.
