How to set goals that you will actually achieve

Happy Sunday, and welcome to the first Sunday of 2025!
This is a moment of fresh beginnings, and I’m excited to see what the new year holds for each of us. With AI evolving rapidly and so many radical developments happening around us, I truly believe 2025 will be unlike any other year. In the midst of all this change, having clear intentions can help us navigate and grow unlike any other year.
That said, have you set your goals for the year yet?
Have you taken time to get really clear on what you want to experience, feel, live, give, generate, and build in 2025?
If not, it’s too late. I personally don't believe in rushing this process because it takes time to reflect and get clear on the year ahead.
As I do this myself, I’m going to share a simple framework I used last year that really helped me make progress in my own life.
I learned that our core aspirations as humans often center around four key areas:
- Aliveness
What will make you feel truly alive and enthusiastic this year? Think about physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, and social well-being.
- Connection
How can you deepen your connections with family and friends, especially those you might not see as often as you’d like?
- Meaningful Pursuit
Ask yourself, “What lights me up?” For me, it’s my art - reading, writing, researching, and finally teaching. I’ve been working on my coaching program, and it’s been life-changing to focus on creating content that helps people rather than chasing likes or pleasing an algorithm.
- Growth
Professionally, I’m aiming to reach more people with my program. That means stepping outside my comfort zone and taking action even when it feels messy. The key is not waiting to be fearless but learning to move forward anyway, despite the doubts and fears. On a personal note, I want to continue to embrace my truest self this year and let that positive energy shine for everyone around me.
By organizing my goals around these four categories, I’m able to feel more aligned and energized.
I feel good about the year rather than just writing a bunch of tasks that I won't achieve.
My hope is that this framework can do the same for you.
P.S. I am thinking of doing something I've never done before. If you’d like some company as you draft your own 2025 goals, I’m thinking of hosting a casual zoom session. Just you, me, and whoever else is ready to get intentional about the new year. We’ll share ideas, keep each other accountable, and make sure our plans feel meaningful and authentic. Let me know if you’re interested - I’d love to do this together.
No pressure or fancy presentations - just a welcoming space where we can talk about our visions for the year and set up simple action steps.
If that sounds good to you, hit reply and let me know!
Here’s to a transformative 2025!

Here's Three Actionable Tips:
- Map Your “Four Pillars” Goals:
Break down your intentions into Aliveness, Connection, Meaningful Pursuit, and Growth. Write one specific, measurable goal under each category, so you’re clear on what success looks like in each area.
- Schedule Quality Connection Time:
Whether it’s a weekly call with a friend or a monthly family brunch, put connection-building activities on your calendar. Treat these moments as important appointments—because they are.
- Embrace “Good-Enough” Action:
Don’t wait for perfect conditions to dive into something new (like a creative project or skill you want to master). Take a small step now and allow yourself to learn and grow on the go.
Weekly Reflection
The question I am asking myself this week âť“
Which of the four pillars - Aliveness, Connection, Meaningful Pursuit, or Growthdo I need to lean into the most right now, and what’s one simple action I can take this week to make it happen?
This week's quote that made me think đź’¬

Jenn's Monthly Book Club đź“š
This is a new segment that I am adding to the newsletter. I have always loved reading and get so much knowledge from books.
Last month, we read 5 Second Rule by Mel Robbins. I loved it. Now I’m tempted to pick up her new release, Let Them Theory. Meanwhile, my therapist recommended What Got You Here Won’t Get You There. I started it on Audible and never finished—maybe I should wrap that one up before starting something new, right? Typical me but let's vote!

Which book - based on the title, sounds most interesting to you right now? |
