Carve out time to just be

I’m writing to you from a cozy hotel room, which quickly because my little slice of holiday heaven.

When my husband asked what I wanted for Christmas, I joked (okay, kind of joked) about wanting a night alone in a hotel. I love that he took me seriously and he surprised me with a delicious night away.

No cooking, no cleaning, no whining toddler or crying baby (trust me, I love them but... 😅)

Just peace, quiet, and solid night of sleep.

It turns out this was exactly what I needed.

With a newborn, a toddler, running my creator business, and launching my coaching program, I’ve been going nonstop, so much so that I barely noticed the holiday season creeping up on me.

I have been on autopilot: schedule, feed, emails, record, repeat.

This little hotel stay reminded me how crucial it is to slow down. Once I allowed myself a single night of uninterrupted rest, everything felt lighter.

That tension I’d been carrying around? Gone.

The fuzzy brain that comes from never really stepping away? Sharpened.

So here’s my holiday wish for you: Carve out time to just be.

If it’s not a hotel room, maybe it’s a coffee date with yourself or a mini digital detox.

If you can’t take a full day off, spend an hour doing something you genuinely enjoy, preferably offline.

This matters for so many reasons.

As content creators, our creativity depends on those moments of stillness. Stepping back from the hustle can actually boost our productivity and spark better ideas for our businesses.

On a personal level, being present, even just for a day, grounds us in what the holidays are really about: connection, gratitude, and the people we love.

Trust me, my kids remind me every day how quickly time flies. The worst thing would be missing out on the magic of Christmas because we’re too busy to notice it.

Don’t let the season pass by in a blur of tasks and deadlines. Even a short break can be a game changer.

So, enjoy Christmas, my friend. Whether you’re building your content empire, wrapping presents, or simply savoring a quiet morning, give yourself permission to slow down and soak it all in.

You’ll come back recharged, refocused, and ready to tackle whatever the new year has in store.

P.S. If you’re looking for one quick productivity tip this season: schedule your downtime like it’s an important meeting, because it is.

When you protect your energy, you show up stronger in every area of your life, from creating content to building your business.

Here are three tips to help you stay productive while still enjoying the holiday season:

  1. Set Realistic Goals for Each Day
Instead of trying to tackle a mile-long to-do list, pick two or three achievable tasks you want to complete each day. This frees up time for you to savor the season without feeling guilty or behind schedule.
  2. Schedule “Holiday Breaks”
Just like you’d schedule a work meeting or a content creation block, put specific “off” time on your calendar. Whether it’s decorating cookies, watching your favorite holiday movie, or sitting down with a mug of hot chocolate, treat these breaks as sacred. You’ll come back recharged and in a better headspace to tackle your tasks.
  3. Batch Your Work
If you have a set of similar tasks—like writing holiday emails or shooting content—group them together and knock them out in one block of time. Batching helps you work more efficiently and leaves you with larger blocks of free time to fully enjoy the holiday festivities.

Weekly Reflection

The question I am asking myself this week ❓

What’s one decision I’ve been putting off that, if made today, would set me up for a stronger start to the new year?

This week's quote that made me think 💬

"You don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.” – Martin Luther King Jr.

This is a new segment that I am adding to the newsletter. I have always loved reading and get so much knowledge from books.

This month, I am reading 5 Second Rule by Mel Robbins. We know a lot, but our biggest issue comes down to EXECUTION. Are you doing what you should be doing? Well this book breaks it all down in terms of how our brain is designed to prevent us from doing hard things. Once you know this, then you can hack your body and push yourself to take action. A powerful read - I highly recommend.

Stay encouraged!
